THE Power of the Dog terpilih sebagai film terbaik di ajang Golden Globe Awards 2022, yang diumumkan secara resmi The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) pada Senin (10/1).
Dalam pergelaran tersebut tidak disiarkan secara langsung dan hanya berupa pengumuman di media sosial dan situs resmi tersebut.
Selain meraih predikat film terbaik, The Power of the Dog juga berhasil membawa pulang piala Sutradara Terbaik lewat Jane Campion.
Film West Side Story berhasil membawa pulang 3 piala, di antaranya kategori Film Musikal atau Komedi Terbaik, Aktris Utama Terbaik, dan Aktris Pendukung Terbaik.
Sementara itu, Andrew Garfield meraih piala Golden Globe pertamanya berkat film musikal Tick, Tick… Boom!. Sementara itu, aktor Korea Selatan O Yeong-su berhasil menjadi aktor pendukung terbaik Golden Globe 2022 berkat perannya dalam Squid Game.
Golden Globe Awards 2022 tahun ini berlangsung tidak seperti biasanya. Para selebritas pun menolak hadir di pembuka musim penghargaan tersebut dan stasiun televisi NBC menolak menayangkan acara itu secara langsung.
Seperti diberitakan Variety, Senin (10/1) pagi waktu Indonesia, hal itu disebabkan sejumlah skandal yang membelit penyelenggara Golden Globe Awards 2022, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).
Skandal tersebut mulai dari dugaan korupsi hingga permasalahan rasial dari komposisi anggota lembaga puluhan tahun itu.
